Discovery NotesTitterTatter was taken from the soil around a tree stump near the CMC and ENA buildings on the USF Tampa campus. The soil was mainly composed of mulch made from wood chips, which allowed the soil to be dry, spongy, and varied in color. The layer of soil directly underneath the mulch was a light brown, and underneath this layer the soil was brown.
Naming NotesThe name comes from the Spot Titer and high titer protocols which I conducted and failed multiple times. I decided to give the phage a fun and slightly annoying name, which played off of the frustration and the name titer.

Plaque NotesVirulent/lytic phage, fast growing, round, and fairly large as it has a final titer of 5.55*10^10 PFU/ml. It characterized the morphology of Siphoviridae as it had a long visible tail, approximately ranging as low as 100 nm and as high as 275 nm; the picture below is approximately 195 nm. I also chose this family as the typical head size for is 60 nm in diameter and my samples come close to this number, between 50-55 nm.
