Discovery NotesThe soil was collected on the edge of a swamp. The temperature on that day was about 70°F to 80°F, but the water and soil sample feels colder. The soil is wet and swampy, has a smell of wet dirt. Soil is muddy, consisting of decaying organic materials, pond water, dead leaves, and extremely dark brown color. Soil depth collected at approximately 3 cm deep. The ecosystem around the swamp should be typical of a pond or swamp.
