Discovery NotesMud in a runoff drain, near a highway. Temperature around 72°F. The environmental sample effectually underwent two enrichments, the first in the sense described in the lab manual, and the second as the filtered sample dilutions sat in 4.5 ml M. smegmatis culture over a weekend due to dubious media. Even then, plaques were only observed on the 10^0 dilution plate.

Re amplified and purified Jenna Ischinger, Samuel Spence, Megan Walker, Quintin Walter, and Brice Wuthrich.

Plaque NotesPlaques were exceptionally small, so their diameter and turbidity were difficult to analyze. The plaques had a diameter of less than 1 mm, and only appeared after roughly 48 hours on a plate. The turbidity appeared clear. There was little to no variation in the plaque size, and they did not noticeably grow after observed.
