Discovery NotesYago84 was discovered in soil collected from Schenley Park in Pittsburgh, PA. The soil conditions were organic and moist, with weeds growing nearby. The weather at the time (3:10 PM) was sunny with calm winds and the temperature was 82oF. ~1/4 cup of soil was collected from a hole dug 3 inches into the soil that was 2 feet from the nearest plant. The soil sample was transported for ~30 minutes prior to storage in a refrigerator at 37oF.
Naming NotesThe name "Yago84" is formed from putting together the results of a random name generator ("Yago") and the results of a random number generator ("84").

Plaque NotesYago84 produces a mixed morphology of cloudy plaques, ranging from 1 mm to 3 mm in diameter. Some of the Yago84 plaques are round, while others are more oval-shaped, though this may be a function of how the top agar was poured.
