Discovery NotesMicrocomedones (blackheads) were extracted from the nose of Nancy Quintanilla using a Biore Pore Strip on April 3rd, 2015. The skin was unwashed and oily. Sample was enriched in RCM media with P. acnes strain ATCC 6919 under anaerobic conditions at 37C. Phage LilBandit was isolated, characterized, and annotated by Team The Lytic Squad (Kimberly Virgen, Benni Vargas, Nancy Quintanilla, Noor Jabaieh) and Team Unphaged (Asit Dave, Ewha Hong, Nick Rice, David Shabsovich). TA: Rocky Ng, Instructor: Jordan Moberg Parker, Laboratory Support: Krisanavane Reddi.
