Discovery NotesThe soil that I chose was from Benedictine University outside of the Ondrak
dorm building. The soil was very hard and crumbly. The soil was frozen from
sitting under the snow and being in the cold temperatures. I didn’t think the soil would be so hard to retrieve. I thought the soil was going to be very moist due to the melting of the snow. In order to retrieve the sample, I used a pocket knife to try and break some pieces of soil up for me to add to my bag. At first this was very hard to do, but the soil started to give and I was able to grab a good ½ pound of soil. The physical description of the sample was it is dark brown with little pieces of roots and wood dispersed throughout the sample.
Naming NotesThe reason I chose to name my phage Ameer is that I wanted to name my phage after myself.
