Discovery NotesI collected soil in my backyard while it was snowing. The location of the collection was Darien, Illinois. The coordinates of the site was 41.7483° N, 87.9738° W. It was collected on January 30th, 2023 at 11:00 pm. I collected dirt using a shovel from a pot that was outside. I dug about two inches into the soil before collecting in order to remove snow from the collection site. The soil was frozen and a shovel was needed to break through it.
Naming NotesI named this phage Bigcountry because I like the way it sounds. I also thought it would sound memorable as a phage name.
