Discovery NotesSample was collected in the planter outside of Longview Hall, directly behind the sign. I dug down about one inch before collecting the sample. Soil was dark, moist, and spongy. The soil was permeated by threadlike roots. The planter was covered in leaves and small plants.
Naming NotesThe reason we are naming our phage CptCrunchTime (Cpt is short for Captain), is because we have always been in a time crunch to get the phage to do what we want. It never seems to take orders from anyone, but it certainly determines what we will be doing in the lab. Our phage is the captain of its own fate.
