Discovery NotesThis phage was isolated from soil found in the Pittsburgh area in grass in front of an apartment building on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh.
Naming NotesThe process of isolating this phage was very lengthy. The phage grew reluctantly in the presence of phage buffer. The plaques were extremely small throughout the process. The phage is very unique. I named this phage Divertere, because Divertere is the latin word for unique and different.

Plaque NotesThe plaques were virulent. The plaques were extremely small throughout the purification process. The diameter of the plaques were about 1.5mm. The edges of the plaques were often ragged. A diluted top agar was required during the purification process to allow the plaque to grow.
