Discovery NotesThe site is on the edge of a twenty acre field that 40 head of cattle graze on. The site is in the sun for most of the day. The site is about ten meters away form a small creek and about a kilometer away from the Saline River. The soil was relatively dry, silty, and rocky. The grade of the site is nearly flat and is at an elevation of 84 meters above sea level. During rainy season, the soil often holds water. Preceding collection, the weather had been very dry; however, the morning of collection it lightly rained for about thirty minutes. At the time of collection, 7:02 p.m., it was 28.89 degrees Celsius at 61 percent humidity. The sample was collected at a depth of 7.3 centimeters.
Naming NotesThis phage was named after my grandfather, who owns the land it was found in. Preceding collection by about six months, he suffered a traumatic brain injury.
