Discovery NotesThe soil I chose from Benedictine University in Lisle, IL. It was dry and crumbly. The location of the soil was from my residence hall, I thought the soil would be somewhat moist due to the snow
from the previous week. In order to retrieve the sample, I used clean nitrile gloves to avoid any contamination. I attempted to remove as much soil as I could with minimal contamination. It was
extremely difficult to extract the soil because the ground was extremely hard from the cold weather. The physical description of the sample as it was dark brown with many medium pieces of wood and
roots. It was mostly wood and root I extracted rather than soil due to the soil freezing from the cold weather.
Naming NotesThis phage is named Fresca after my friend's dog (soon to be 12) because she was the first thing name
that popped into my mind. When I would go to my friend's house, I would usually run around playing with
both of her dogs but Fresca was always the more cuddly one.
