Discovery NotesThe phage was found in Keeney Quadrangle at Brown University outside of the entrance to the Everrett/Poland dorms. The date was 9/10/15, the temperature was 23 degrees Celsius, and it was raining during the time of soil collection. The soil was found 4 cm deep in the ground and it was located next to a table that was a few feet from a tree and a few feet from a cement walkway.
Naming NotesFounder is very indecisive and could not decide on a name for his phage, so he decided to name the phage "Indy," which is derived from the word "indecisive"

Plaque NotesAfter four rounds of purification, there were both small and big plaques on the plates. A fifth round of purification was done with one set of plates that used phage from a big plaque and a second set of plates that used phage from a small plaque. All plates ended up having both big and small plaques, which suggests that the appearance of plaques of two different sizes was not a purification issue and that this is instead what the phage does. The small plaques were about 1mm in diameter and the big plaques were about 2mm in diameter. The plaques were clear which suggests that the phage is lytic.
