Discovery NotesThe humidity in the atmosphere during the time of soil extraction was 59%. There was a slight sprinkle of rain, causing the soil to be moist. The soil was harvested next to an avocado tree planted in the ground. The soil was extracted from 2 inches below the surface.
Naming NotesMy name is Jason and I discovered my phage. I named my phage after myself and gave it a cool name that is easy to pronounce for future reference. Also, my phage was very hard to see at first. The plaque morphology was consisted of small, cloudy plaques, and I almost discarded of the plate because the plaques were so hard to see at first. After multiple serial dilutions to amplify my phage content, the plaques were still very small, cloudy and hard to see. However, after my second round of amplifications, the number of plaques increased rapidly, and 'boomed' just like dynamite. That is why my phage is named Jasonite, a combination of Jason and Dynamite.
Sequencing Information
Sequencing Complete?No
Genome length (bp)Unknown
Character of genome endsUnknown

Characterization
ClusterUnclustered
Subcluster--
Annotating InstitutionUnknown or unassigned

Plaque NotesThe plaques were similar in morphology and size. They were all round, and appeared to be cloudy. The cloudiness of the plaques could be a sign that the phage is lysogenic.
