Discovery NotesThis soil came from near the building of the social worker Kristin Moen's building (891 Belsly Blvd, Moorhead, MN 56560). There was a clump of soil right be the flowers on the East side of the building below a white windowframe on a red-bricked wall. We did not dig very deep for the soil; the soil was piled and was extracted fairly easily.
Naming NotesWe named our phage JudgeJudy because it reminded us of the strict rules we needed to follow to be successful in this class (such as attentive isolation, proper sterilization, and attention to detail). We're sure Judge Judy herself needs to be attentive to the little things in life, just like we did. We're sure she would be so proud knowing there's now a phage named after her.
