Discovery NotesThis phage was obtained from soil that was moist and loamy (top soil). The soil accommodated a vegetable/herb garden. The moisture of the soil was attributed to the fact that it had rained the night before (also loamy soil in general is very moist). The soil was extremely dark in colour and had small granules. The soil was enriched and incubated for 24 hours at 37°C.
Naming NotesThe phage "Kyni" was a nickname derived from the name of the scientist who discovered it, Kynesha Moopanar.
