Discovery NotesFound in the garden in the UNLV recycling center (planter 21 specifically). This soil has previously yielded plants, and is currently empty but is watered daily. Additionally, compost is put into these planters. The sample was collected from 20cm deep into the garden bed, and the soil was damp.
Naming NotesThe pair who discovered this phage settled and named it McSinger, a combination of their last two names McFarland and Huntsinger.

Plaque NotesAs of now, McSinger is both lytic and lysogenic. The team has picked plaques and tried to isolate a single morphology multiple times. Every time the plates came back from incubation, there would be two morphologies present. Currently, we have determined that we just have a weird phage.
