Discovery NotesThe soil sample was collected around 7.5 centimeters below the surface. The soil was powdery (did not clump) but still moist. There was a fair amount of organic material from a nearby tree at the collection site.
Naming NotesI named this phage after my cat, Popoki. My family has a tradition that we name our pets based on places we have lived. Popoki is the Hawaiian word for cat.
