Discovery NotesCollected soil from (33.2'35" N 97.1'41" ) in Eastern Lewisville, Texas. The temperature was around 95 degrees F and it was sunny. The location I got the soil from is in the alley way at the base of my backyard fence near a drainage system for a duck pond. I had dug up about 1-2 inches of the soil between the concrete of the road and the concrete of the fence base. It was placed in a plastic baggie with the plastic spoon I had used to collect the soil.
Naming NotesI named this phage after my Pekin duck Rose. I like the name because it reminds me of my duck and I care a lot about him, it reminds me of all the times I spent caring for him and being around him. I do not have him anymore so it makes me happy that I have a piece of where he once swam had a phage in it.
