Discovery NotesThis plaque was removed from the environment at 9:58am in a surface soil sample from a swampy water bed that contained, dark, musky soil that was littered with goose droppings. Physically, the sample was very moist and slippery with small green algae within it.
Naming NotesI chose this name because the myth of the skinwalker originated from the Navajo culture and described men and women walking in the skins of various animals. Phages do essentially the same thing with their hosts. They insert their DNA into the host and live there until lysing their bacteria. They wear the skin of their host.
