Discovery NotesThis phage was found in a soil sample from a compost pile found in the garden. The temperature conditions were 89 degree fahrenheit with a humidity point at 68.3% on the day the soil sample was collected. The area surrounding the soil where the sample was taken had little to no vegetation and was fairly dry.
Naming NotesThana is the Greek word for death and since the phage is causing host bacterium to lyse we thought it was appropriate.
