Discovery NotesThis sample was found in a planter in front of the Sciences Library, just below the surface of the soil. At the time of collection, it was 79°F and had been slightly rainy the day before. This phage was from the same sample as the phage called "HalfBaked", but was found to be different through purification.
Naming NotesPopular rapper and cultural icon Nicki Minaj has the special ability to clear the competition through her vibrant personality and masterful wielding of words. Her recent song "FTCU" features a line that reads, "High heels on my tippies". This line is the reason behind the name Tippy, as the plaque this phage forms is clear; similar to the way Nicki clears the competition, Tippy clears bacteria.
