Discovery NotesWas isolated from a creek bank near Western Carolina University. The soil sample was wet and the sample went a few cm deep.
Naming NotesThe name is a short version of its official name in mandarin. The name in mandarin comes 稳噬功, which means stable, bite, power. This comes from the fact that the phage was stable throughout isolation and purification. In mandarin phages are literally called bacteria biting bodies. The second character in my phages name comes from this word and means bite. The last character is my phage's name is the character for strength. This is because my phage is very lytic and if not careful typically completely clears bacteria plates.
