Discovery Notes | Sample was taken from soil near a man-made, but not chemically treated, fish pond. The area was slightly shaded, damp, and frequented by wildlife. The soil sample was taken from an area where plants grow very quickly and very large relative to surrounding areas. |
Naming Notes | We named our phage after the famous singer Adele because we feel that our phage really "Set Phire to the Plate" with its lit plaques. Our phage is also named after Idina Menzel (aka Adele Dazeem courtesy of John Travolta) who voiced the main character Elsa in the movie Frozen. We think this character really embodies how "cool" our phage is. |
