Discovery NotesKate McAvaddy's collection site for the soil was in a very shaded area under trees and underneath mud due to heavy rain 3.5 hours prior. The collection site was near a patch of poison ivy and an abundance of foliage. It was a well-maintained nature reserve located in a rural area far from buildings and out of foot traffic, but close to water.
Naming NotesThe name of this sample came from the adoption of the phage from Kate McAvaddy by Isabella Jimenez and Madeleine Malesich. The soil sample number was 66, thus the combination of adoption and 66 created the name Adopted66.
