Discovery Notes | The phage was isolated from soil collected underneath a tree, in relatively moist soil. The temperature at the time of soil collection was 27.78° C. The depth of the soil was 5.1 cm. |
Naming Notes | The name "Almostphailed" was inspired by our difficulty in purifying our phage and due to its odd plaque morphology. It was difficult to obtain webbed plates despite proper calculations and often we recived agar plates with no plaques although we were certain of phage presence. Thus, we named our phage "Almostphailed". |
