Discovery NotesPhage was discovered at one of the campus residence halls. The soil was wet and nutrient rich. A great amount of organic material was present due to other plants in the tree bed. The soil was not fine; it was very similar to mulch, containing pieces of wood and other large pieces of clumped soil. The phage was isolated from a soil sample at a depth of 4 inches and a temperature of 18 C.
Naming NotesThe campus residence hall at which the phage was discovered was Andrews Terrace. The phage is named after it origin of discovery. It also has the extra K after the student who did the classification of the phage.

Plaque NotesLysogenic phage that produces small plaques at its initial time of infection which later grow in size and form distinct bulls-eye patterns. The phage has two clearings around a center of origin. One of which is hazy and turbid, bacterial regrowth, and the other which is completely cleared. At its early infection stage the plaque may only have one clearing, hazy and turbid.
