Discovery NotesSoil sample was taken from my Grandma's vegetable garden on the 22nd July 2015. The soil was damp as it had rained overnight. There was compost mixed in with the soil. The sample was taken from just below the top-most layer of soil.
Naming NotesI would like the new name of my phage to be "Aotearoa", its not an English word though- it means "New Zealand" in Maori.

Previously, I chose the name PlainJane based on the fact that my phage followed all of the possible 'trends'. For example, it was found as a result of enriching the soil sample, the plaques were nothing too spectacular- small and clear-and the EM revealed it to be of the Siphoviridae morphotype, which is expected of M. smeg- infecting phage.
