Discovery NotesI found the phage next to the Mann student center building. It was my second try of direct isolation. So, I picked the surface of the grass and placed it in a ziplock bag and proceeded with the protocols.
Naming NotesThe name of my phage will be "Apuro" which means hurry or despair in Portuguese. I chose this name because, through the process of purification, I had a lot of ordeals. It seemed that everything would go wrong and that I wouldn't be able to proceed to the next step. I had a tough time and sometimes wanted to give up. I was hopeless, but somehow, I was able to do the purification and proceed to the next step. The name "Apuro" has a lot of meaning to me since I had many ordeals throughout my process. It will remind me of the challenging moments, and because of those hard times, I could get to the end and name my phage with the experience I obtained through this lab.
