Discovery NotesCollected from soil found under a tree in Central Residential Area at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
Naming NotesThe name Aquata originates from a labeling mistake during one of our labs. Instead of the correct sample ID, AQUTA, one series of agar plates was labeled AQUATA. We liked the sound and history of this name, so we decided to make it the permanent name for this phage.
