Discovery NotesIsolated from a soil sample procured from a place in west of Delhi called Dwarka. The protocol followed for isolation of the Mycobacteriophages was as described in the manual "Phagehunting Teacher Workshop-2012".
The work was carried out in Dr.Urmi Bajpai's laboratary at the department of Biomedical Science, Acharya Narendra Dev College, University of Delhi of Delhi under ELITE fellowship undergraduate research program sponsored by the college to carry out the the PHAGE DISCOVERY Research Project (PDRP).
Naming NotesThe name of the phage is kept by the students who worked and discovered the Mycobacteriophages from the soil samples collected by them. The first three letters of "ArigunHALO" are taken from the names of the students: Ari (Aridni), gun (gunjan) and the letters in uppercase stands for ‘halo’ (found around the plaque).
