Discovery NotesSoil was from a planter that had been used to grow pole beans in the spring, but had been fallow for 4 months. Some wild clover was growing in the planter. Soil was wet from slow rain all day and had leaf litter decomposing. Soil was collected from the top inch of the soil. Soil was rich in organic matter.
Naming NotesBecca Bug is a nickname for my daughter that helped me collect the sample. We offered several names and she picked this one. She was happy to help daddy do science in our garden.
