Discovery NotesThe soil was collected from around the base of a light pole right down the sidewalk from the Polymer Science building at Southern Miss. It was around 80 degrees Fahrenheit and sunny.
Naming NotesMy last name "Fera" translates into "Beast" in Portuguese, which is an interesting fact our drum line instructor here at USM told me. He spent the past twelve years teaching in Brazil and told me the name for "Beauty and the Beast" there is "Belle y Fera", which I thought would interesting to represent in the naming process.
