Discovery Notes | The phage soil sample was taken from a potted plant in my backyard that was recently watered (2 days prior) |
Naming Notes | Due to having to reduce several steps since our first soil sample yielded no phages, and all dilutions were completely lysed out, keeping us from isolating a phage for some time. The name "Billy" is from the frog I dissected in 7th grade; the dissection was long and difficult due to frog birth defects internally, perfect for an annoying phage. |
