Discovery NotesThe soil sample was collected at around 10:30 A.M with a temperature around 48° Fahrenheit. The day before, it had snowed lightly, and enough to cover the entire lawn. Due to the recent moisture from the snow, the soil was moist and compact. Although with these conditions, It was difficult to retrieve the snow in the cold temperatures. The soil was collected with a metal scoop. There was some mulch and dead leaves in the deep brown-colored soil, but I removed it to retain as much pure soil. The soil was dug at a 45° angle and dug 6.75 inches deep and 2.2 inches away from the roots of the Blue Holly.
Naming NotesThe name comes from my deceased cockateil (pet bird.)
