Discovery NotesThe sample was collected near a drainage pipe depositing run-off from gutters into an open, grassy area next to the Zapara School of Business. The site had both brown and green grass with roots reaching deep into the mud. The sample was a wet and muddy sludge containing twigs, roots, and a dead leaf. The depth of the sample was 3-4 cm below the surface, the ambient temperature was 60 °F, and the ambient humidity was 39%.
Naming NotesI love using the analogy of bacteriophages as "secret phagents" hijacking a host's "protein factory" by smuggling in genomic "blueprints" to print more phages.
