Discovery Notes The soil sample from which the Brighteyes phage was isolated was collected on 9/12/16 at 9:00AM central time. The soil itself was taken from the side of a ravine within a forest comprised of largely deciduous trees with pine trees on the south side. The deepest point from which soil was taken was 4.5cm beneath the surface. Weather conditions included an ambient temperature of 65 degrees centigrade, humidity of less than 50%, and little cloud cover.
Naming NotesThe name Brighteyes was selected as this is what the phage's plaque morphology resembles when held to a light.
