Discovery Notes | My first time spot test results were negative. I noticed that probably why I got a negative in my first sample is because I did not dig deep in the soil. The second time I collected soil I enriched mine and one of my classmates because she got a positive in her first result. She collected the soil from the same spot that I collected. So the results for the second spot test I got two positives but I only needed one so I gave the other one to a classmate. My bacteria host is Gordonia rubripertincta. Additionally, I noticed that the more accurate a person's work is the more likely the results will be positive. |
Naming Notes | The result for my first pick a plaque was very hard to see, it almost had the same color of the agar. Therefore, I called it Camo (short for camouflage). Also, since it is 2020, I named it Camo2020. |
