Discovery NotesDark brown, damp soil with fine roots and decomposing leaves. Shaded by oak and pine trees, with light insect activity noted. The sample was obtained 1-2 cm underneath the soil. It was located near a lake.
Naming NotesWe chose this name for our Phage because it reminded us of a legendary pirate — the best in the world. This name reflects the striking appearance of the plaques, as if they had “conquered” their territory like a fearless captain marking his claim.
