Discovery Notes | Soil was located in a mix of very wet and moist dirt. Soil was soft to touch and dark brown. Very easy to break apart. About a handful was collected in a plastic bag and kept in lab. |
Naming Notes | The phage name is CarverA. The name came from the fact that the phage was found in the soil by Carver Hall on North Carolina A&T campus. The “A” at the end represents the initial of the founder's first name, which correlates to this being the first phage found and explored within the lab by founder. |
