Discovery NotesSoil collected in the dry creek between Firstview Drive, Dry Creek, and Mesa in 78731 Austin, Texas.

TEM images showed the capsid vertical length is approximately 55 nm, and the capsid horizontal length is approximately 60 nm.

TEM images showed the tail length is approximately 180–200 nm, consistent with a long, flexible, non-contractile tail typical of siphoviruses.

The phage particles displayed no visible contractile sheath or baseplate, further supporting placement within the Siphoviridae family.

Plaque assays showed very small (~0.3–0.7 mm), turbid plaques evenly distributed across the lawn, suggesting a temperate lifecycle with efficient lysogen formation.
Naming NotesThe area the sample was collected from is called "Cat Mountain" in Northwest Hills Austin, Texas, USA.
