Plaque NotesPlaque morphology is mostly bullseyes that are roughly 3mm after 22 hours of incubation at 34°C: clear center, turbid ring, clearer turbid ring, turbid and soft edges. Sometimes bullseyes are smaller and have the same ring pattern. When much smaller, around 1mm, the bullseyes are not apparent while soft edges are still present. This smaller morphology (<2mm) is rare and can occur up to approximately 7% of the time. With more incubation time, plaques grow larger and rings are less distinct.
