Discovery NotesThe soil was moist and 3 inches deep. It was located near bushes and other foliage outside in Carrollton, TX. It was obtained midday August 30, 2012 in 101°F weather.
Naming NotesThe name of our phage, Chand, reflected the plaques we obtained during our experiments. The plaques were consistently circular, cloudy with blurred edges, and 3-4 mm across. Apart from the size, the plaque properties resembled those of the moon. "Chand" means "moon" in Urdu.
