Discovery Notes | Location and date (time): The soil sample was collected at the door of Ruskin Hall at 14:12 on Sept. 15th. Weather and temperature: The weather was sunny, and the temperature was 27 degree Celsius as the Weather app showed on iPhone. Soil conditions: A plastic spoon was used to scoop the soil into the bag. The soil was soft and loose. The soil was a little wet. While scooping, there were many wood chips among the soil. There was also a small bush beside the soil. The soil was dark brown. Storage conditions: After finishing collecting the sample, the soil was put on the shelf in the dorm. So it was at room temperature. Duration of transportation: The soil sample was transported to my dorm at 15:02, so the duration was 50 minutes. Duration of storage: The sample was kept on the shelf until 16:08 on Sept. 17th. The duration is 2 day 1 hour and 6 min. |
Naming Notes | The soil sample was dark brown which reminds me of my favorite food -- chocolate ice-cream. |
