Discovery NotesSite Characteristics - Collected a soil sample from a big planter in Neha's front yard on her porch. She used a small shovel to scoop the soil into a ziplock bag. The soil was fairly dry and contained a little bit of wood chips. Followed protocols up to protocol 5.6 in the Phage discovery guide.
Naming NotesWe found this phage lurking outside of the house, in in a suburban neighborhood much like a robber would. With Christmas around the corner, we thought of the classic Christmas movie "Home Alone".
