Discovery NotesThe environmental sample (soil) was taken at a low point in a lightly managed wildflower field that had not been exposed (in my knowledge) to pesticides, garden soil, or fertilizer in at least 20 years - only mowed a few times a year. A hole was dug with a trowel about 9 cm deep and the sample was taken from this soil, including grasses/roots within soil. It was lightly raining and about 19.7 Celsius.
Naming NotesI named it after my daughter, Clementine.
Sequencing Information
Sequencing Complete?No
Genome length (bp)Unknown
Character of genome endsUnknown
Fasta file available?No
Characterization
ClusterUnclustered
Subcluster--
Lysogeny NotesThe phage exemplified lytic life cycle and did not show evidence of lysogeny.
Annotating InstitutionUnknown or unassigned
Annotation StatusNot sequenced
Plaque NotesDirect isolation and plaque assay yielded varying plaque morphologies including small (pinprick) and medium (ballpoint pen tip) sized clear plaques. Through purification down to a single clonal population, the plaques were generally of a uniform medium (ball point pen tip) size and clear.
