Discovery Notes | The soil sample was taken from the side yard of a chicken coop at 173 Whateley Road. It was collected from approx.1-3 cm below the surface. It was wet and dark, and contained root fragments from nearby plants. The location was selected due to the proximity to livestock. |
Naming Notes | We named the phage Clucky because it was discovered from a soil sample taken near a chicken coop. |

Plaque Notes | After the sample was prepared and plated, both small and large plaques developed. The size difference was significant enough that there were potentially two or more different phages in the sample. All had clearly defined edges. We picked from a large plaque formed on the plated 10^-2 dilution. |
