Naming NotesWhen we first started working with this phage, it was very uncooperative with us. It made us perform numerous purifications and isolations to get it ready for DNA extraction. At some stages, we had multiple trials to execute one protocol which set us back behind the pace of the rest of the class. One fine day in the lab, just as we were losing hope, our phage came through. With numerous perfect webbed plates, our phage was on track to surpass the pace set by the class. In a hollywood underdog fashion, we were able to complete all protocols for the term weeks in advance of the class. To give it a name worthy of its surprise, we named it “DarkHorse.”
