Discovery NotesWe took the soil sample from the Letourneau University campus in Longview, Texas on the back side of South Hall in the flower bushes. The spot of the sample was in a place that would be shaded almost all day. The ground was wet from the morning dew so we moved a few leaves to clear the area and began digging. The hole was about 2 inches deep and 2 inches wide. We stopped digging when a more sandy texture of soil appeared. We filled the 50-millimeter conical tube with approximately 30-millimeters of soil, which we later minimized to 15 millimeters. The coordinates of the spot were 32.4667 N , -94.7242 W.
Naming NotesWe named our phage Dlimm because as we were writing our initials on our plates that we made every week, we kept seeing DL/MM. We changed the / to an i and named our phage a combination of our initials with an added letter in between.
