Discovery Notes | The phage was found within dirt. Dirt was collected from a college community lawn, specifically Race Lawn at Drexel University. Digging was done at about 2in deep. |
Naming Notes | The phage was named DragonPhruit. Dragon is for the Drexel mascot, and we both like fruit. |
Sequencing Information | |
Sequencing Complete? | No |
Genome length (bp) | Unknown |
Character of genome ends | Unknown |
Fasta file available? | No |
Characterization | |
Cluster | Unclustered |
Subcluster | -- |
Annotating Institution | Unknown or unassigned |
Annotation Status | Not sequenced |
Plaque Notes | The clearings within the bacteria are usually foggy. Therefore, they are lysogenic. The direct isolation resulted in consistently tiny clearings. However, the lysate resulted in a much lower concentration of phage and fewer clearings of varying sizes. |
