| Naming Notes | Dubai chocolate originated in Dubai in 2021 with the brand FIX Dessert Chocolatier, founded by Sarah Hamouda, who created the chunky bars to satisfy pregnancy cravings. The original treat, called "Can't Get Knafeh Of It," is filled with a pistachio and tahini cream and crunchy, shredded phyllo dough (kataifi pastry), which is then coated in a chocolate shell. The bars went viral globally in late 2023 and early 2024 due to social media, particularly TikTok, which led to worldwide fame and imitations. |
